Fall Break

It was so nice to be able to go home this past weekend. I missed seeing all of my family and friends! Even though we only had one day off it was still nice. I actually didn't get back from Lafayette until today because we had a funeral to go to. It wasn't good that we had to go to a funeral but it was nice being able to see the family that I wouldn't have seen if it were just a regular visit to home. I missed all of my animals and it was hard leaving again, the next time I'll be going home will probably be Thanksgiving break, so it was a nice visit overall.

Swine Flu

This article is from USA today on 6/10/09, the article is titled "H1N1 is very close to pandemic status." It states that the World Health Organization was preparing to declare the first flu pandemic in 40 years. Swine flu has infected more than 26,500 people on 73 countries and has killed 140 of them. All but 34 of the death have occurred in Mexico where the epidemic began around April. In the USA doctors have reported 13,217 infections and 27 deaths. The virus affects healthy young people which is a common trait in pandemic flu viruses. However most patients do not become severely ill and can be treated at home. The article also states that scientists need to tailor their plans to meet the existing situation, they are worried that the situation is still in flux and involves a new virus that may become more dangerous over time.

Stress

School has put so much stress on me. I thought that highschool was rough...it was pretty much a cake walk compared to college. I love the fact that i'm on my own. But I also hate the fact that I don't have my parents here for support. I always have my friends to turn to, but it's just not the same. I know I can do everything I need to get done, it's just the simple fact of motivation I absolutely have none. By the time I get home from classes im exhausted, so then I will take a nap. After a nap I'm hungry so then I go get food with friends and hangout. By the time I get back to my room it's like 9:00 pm and I'm tired again. It's never ending!

Analysis Essay

For this assignment I had no idea what to expect or even what to do. I was so confused on what song I was going to choose so I just stuck with a kind of familiar one, which is surprisingly working out. The most helpful thing to me this far are the peer reviews for sure. They allow me to see what my peers have been working on and see how they put their papers together. I already have a few ideas just from today's class that I want to incorporate into my paper, so those have been easily the most important element for me so far. Especially for this paper because I was so confused so at least now I have a broader perspective for what I need to work on.
